Diyar Al Muharraq

Diyar Al Muharraq, the largest real estate development company in the Kingdom of Bahrain, announced the completion of over 90% of the main and secondary infrastructure works on the Southern Island. The works have been in operation since 2012, and are expected to be completed as per the set schedule. 

The infrastructure works on the project has been completed with high standards under the supervision of leading local and international engineering consultancies and contracting companies, alongside the unprecedented efforts of Diyar Al Muharraq’s team who overlooked the project through all of its phases. As a result, the Southern Island has become a popular attraction for investors, business owners, and individuals looking for modern and fully-integrated residential communities.

Recent upgrades on the project included the construction and lighting of road networks over 11km for main roads and 75km for secondary roads, in addition to eight 66kV primary substations and more than 150 11kV electricity distribution plants. Works on the primary and secondary sewage network include the pumping station, water tanks and distribution systems, rainwater drainage systems, irrigation systems and a pumping station for irrigation water. Additionally, a total of 11 communication towers were developed encompassing both the main and secondary telecommunications networks. Works also included afforestation of public roads and the paving of walking and bicycle lanes.

Commenting on the occasion, Eng. Ahmed Ali Alammadi, Chief Executive Officer of Diyar Al Muharraq, said, “We are proud of our efforts in completing 90% of the main and secondary infrastructure works on the Southern Island of Diyar, in line with our set schedule while also maintaining the highest standards.
