Manama, Bahrain – 9 March 2023: as part of the Award for Productive Families, Souq Al Baraha’s management team was recognized as ‘Best Project Sponsor’. On the occasion, Eng. Ahmed Ali Al Ammadi, Chief Executive Officer of Diyar Al Muharraq, expressed his appreciation, and gratitude to Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King and Supreme Council for Women (SCW) President and Her Highness Sheikha Hessa bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, Chair of the Board of Directors of Injaz Bahrain. Mr. Al Ammadi also lauded the efforts of the Ministry of Social Development and its affiliates to ensure the success of the 16th edition of the Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa Award for Productive Families 2023.
Mr. Al Ammadi also noted, ‘This award has helped to increase support for productive Bahraini families since its inception in 2007. It has helped to engender societal and familial development in line with the visions of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the government chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. The unwavering support provided by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King, has ensured that families feel empowered to be productive by reviving and encouraging different forms of craftsmanship. We are maintaining our nation’s cultural legacy, ensuring a sustainable income for families. Souq Al Baraha won the ‘Best Supporter of Productive Families’ award 2023, reflecting the board’s goals, developed to cultivate local industry and encourage artisans to produce unique and traditional Bahraini products. The revival of these traditional crafts ensures the production of cultural artifacts which are authentic and unique to Bahrain. This will engender the convergence of culture and heritage with commerce and tourism, bolstering Bahraini’s reputation as a unique shopping destination.
