Diyar Al Muharraq

Diyar Al Muharraq, one of the largest real estate developers in Bahrain, held a foundation stone laying ceremony on Sunday 12th of July 2020, marking the construction of the mosque located in Deerat Al Oyoun, whose cost was donated by a philanthropist. The event, held under precautionary measures in accordance with official regulations, was attended by Shaikh Dr. Rashid bin Mohammed Al-Hajeri, Sunni Endowments Council Chairman, and Mr. Abdulhakeem Yaqoob Alkhayatt, Chairman of Diyar Al Muharraq, with representatives from the Sunni Endowments Councils and Diyar Al Muharraq, along with consultants and engineers representing European Construction, the company initiating the construction of the mosque.

Expected to complete in the first quarter of 2021, European Construction will initiate construction of the mosque in the near future to ensure its operation at maximum efficiency with the commencing of construction work. Upon opening to the public, the mosque is expected to become a prominent landmark for Deerat Al Oyoun, set to serve over 600 worshipers over 1,217 sqm.

The mosque was designed by Arab Architects with a unique architectural concept, which is inspired by the authentic Islamic Arabic architecture, and also constitutes a luxurious architectural monument with a dome decorated with motifs, making it a grand architectural structure.

Commenting on this occasion, Shaikh Dr. Rashid bin Mohammed Al-Hajeri, Sunni Endowments Council Chairman said: “We are pleased to see the commencement of construction of a new house of worship for Allah Almighty in Diyar Al Muharraq. I would like to extend our gratitude and thanks to the generous donor covering the cost of building the mosque. I would also like to highlight the efforts made by Diyar Al Muharraq in spreading the spirit of worship across the masterplan and encouraging residents of all projects to come together for the act of worship. Finally, I would like to congratulate the residents of Deerat Al Oyoun especially on this occasion, and we ask Allah almighty to bring them closer to his house of worship.”

Also commenting, Mr. Abdulhakeem Yaqoob AlKhayatt, Chairman of Diyar Al Muharraq said: “We thank Allah Almighty, who enabled us to start building one of the first mosques located in the Deerat Al Oyoun project. We are also pleased to announce the completion of the infrastructure for the construction of the mosque. The mosque construction cost was donated by a philanthropist, may Allah bless them. We have high hopes and confidence in the efficiency of European Construction, which will work as the official contractor of this mosque, given its extensive experience in the Kingdom, which is in line with our mission to professionally accomplish all projects both efficiently and effectively.”
