Diyar Al Muharraq Golden Sponsor of Bahraini Motorcyclist Salman Mohammed at the Dakar Rally 2021 in Saudi Arabia

Diyar Al Muharraq, one of the largest real estate developers in Bahrain, has announced its Golden Sponsorship of the Bahraini motorcyclist Salman Mohammed participating at the 43rd Dakar Rally 2021 which will be held in Jeddah – KSA between 3rd – 15th January 2021. 


The agreement signing ceremony took place at Diyar Al Muharraq headquarters, in the presence of Eng. Ahmed Ali Alammadi, CEO of Diyar Al Muharraq, Rashed Abdullatif Al-Zayani, General Secretary of the Bahrain Motor Federation, Osama Al Laith, Head of the Media Committee for the Bahrain Motor Federation, and racer Salman Mohammed, alongside other officials from both organisations.
On this occasion, Eng. Ahmed Ali Alammadi, Chief Executive Officer of Diyar Al Muharraq, commented: “We are very delighted to announce our sponsorship of the racer at the Dakar Rally for the second consecutive year. We also take great pride in all the achievements of the rally motorcyclist Salman Mohammed, who will be participating alongside the Australian Dutch team this year. Through this sponsorship, we would like to reiterate our commitment to supporting national initiatives that contribute to the further development and growth of our beloved Kingdom, elevating its international position on every level, under the leadership and support of His Majesty the King’s Representative for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, National Security Advisor and Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Affairs (SCYS) Chairman His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa and His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee.”

These races also come as part of initiatives by the Bahrain Motor Federation, which are in line with the strategies placed by the Bahrain Olympic Committee and the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports,” said Rashed Abdullatif Al-Zayani, General Secretary of the Bahrain Motor Federation.
Osama Al Laith, Head of Media Committee at the Bahrain Motor Federation expressed his elation on this occasion and added: “On behalf of BMF, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Diyar Al Muharraq for sponsoring the Bahraini racer at the Dakar Rally, for the second consecutive year. This reaffirms Diyar’s commitment to supporting the youth, as well as encouraging motorsports, which is witnessing significant growth locally and regionally, under the leadership of the His Majesty the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs and President of the Supreme Council for Youth HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee.”
Dakar Rally is an anticipated annual event with a wide audience that spans across the globe and competitors from over 20 countries. The race classifies as an endurance race, with different types of off-road vehicles and bikes modified to meet the requirements, competing against each other, facing the most difficult rugged terrain, throughout various routes, ranging from mud, rock, sand tracks and more.
It is worth noting that participant Salman Mohammed held an intensive training camp under the supervision of Emirati Champion Mohammed Al Balooshi at the MX-Academy Dubai, in order to improve his performance and focus in preparation for the upcoming Rally. Training has commenced in the beginning of October 2020 and is currently being continued in Bahrain. During last year’s rally, Salman Mohammed was lauded for his outstanding performance and sportsmanship, when he stopped racing to help an injured racer, as well as another competitor who faced motorcycle malfunction during the race.
