DIYAR AL MUHARRAQ ANNOUNCES A PROGRAM OF COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES FOR FEBRUARY 2012 TO “PROTECT THE ENVIRONMENT”

DIYAR AL MUHARRAQ, one of Bahrain’s leading urban developments, long established as a compelling force on environmental issues has announced February as “Protect the Environment” month. All through February the company will conduct initiatives around this green theme, which will culminate in a Walkathon. The series of activities planned for the month includes two days dedicated to the donation of small trees to the public at a stand at Seef Mall on the 22^nd and 23^rd of February. The proactive gesture will encourage people to plant more trees and maintain them within their gardens and neighbourhood. On 25^th February a Walkathon proceeding from Dohat Arad is intended to create public awareness and cooperation for the cause of the environment. All information about oncoming programs will be announced through social media sites like Facebook (Diyar Al Muharraq) and Twitter (@DiyarAlMuharraq).

Maintaining its focus on environmental and community concerns, DIYAR AL MUHARRAQ has donated trees, plants, vegetables and seeds to winner of the DIYAR AL MUHARRAQ Drawing Competition, Roquya Primary Girls School in Muharraq. The recipient last year of a complete garden-landscaping project, Roquya Primary Girls School is once again the beneficiary of DIYAR AL MUHARRAQ’s generous contribution for the upkeep and maintenance of the garden. Through this Drawing competition and many other such initiatives conducted across Bahrain, DIYAR AL MUHARRAQ has worked to stimulate and recognize talent in young people, while simultaneously creating greater awareness and appreciation amongst them for the importance of nature and the conservation and care of the country’s natural resources.

KFH-Bahrain hosts key Chinese trade delegation

A high-level Chinese trade delegation, led by Mr. Zhang Xiu, Deputy Director General of the Department of Commerce of Ningxia Hui Region, in the presence of the Chinese Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, H.E. Yang Weiguo, met with Mr. Abdulhakeem Alkhayyat, the Managing Director and CEO of KFH-Bahrain, Mr. Aaref Hejres, CEO of Diyar Al Muharraq, Mr. Osama Al Khajah, Chairman of Baytik Industrial Oasis and senior officials from the Bank to discuss investment opportunities in the Diyar Al Muharraq project.

The visiting officials were taken on a tour of the Diyar Al Muharraq project site with a view to increasing the potential scope of cooperation between the two entities.

Talks between the delegation and KFH-Bahrain focused on investment opportunities, facilities and services offered by the Bank to help Chinese companies serve the local and regional markets. During the introduction to Diyar Al Muharraq, Mr. Alkhayyat explained to the delegation the strategic pivotal role Diyar Al Muharraq will play in the overall development of Bahrain’s housing market. He also shared Diyar Al Muharraq's business vision of creating Bahrain's largest mixed-use residential urban development. A review of opportunities for cooperation between the Diyar Al Muharraq project and the visiting delegation also followed.

Mr. Alkhayyat, commented, "China is a highly developed and industrialised nation and we are pleased to be forging stronger cooperative ties with our Chinese counterparts. Opening up new projects and investment opportunities in the Kingdom will not only benefit KFH-Bahrain and its customers, but also to the future development of Bahrain in general."

Leading development company DIYAR AL MUHARRAQ organized a visit to the Bahrain Parents Care Home to spend time with the women there on the occasion of Bahraini Women’s Day, which falls on the 1^st of December every year. Executive management of DIYAR AL MUHARRAQ met the Ambassador of the Republic of China H.E. Yang Weiguo and a delegation of representatives from a number of Chinese companies on Tuesday, 25 October 2011. The purpose of the visit was to introduce DIYAR AL MUHARRAQ project and to acquaint the delegates with the sophisticated and top-notch facilities that would be available on completion, and the high standards of construction and infrastructural development maintained. Of special interest to the visitors was the proposed China Town district, which will be located in the International Logistics Zone. Developed on similar lines as other China Town projects in the region, currently operational in Kuwait, UAE and Syria, the DIYAR AL MUHARRAQ concept will have several unique features making it an attractive business proposition for Chinese companies and investors. It will consist of an International market, a China Town Mall and a heritage mall with an old-world ambience where one can shop for traditional souvenirs and ethnic goods. The set up of a Chinese International School is also an important part of the concept plan.
